About

About Kava Finders.

An independent directory for America's growing kava landscape. No affiliate payola. No paid placement. Medically reviewed.

Mission

Our purpose.

Help you find legitimate kava near you, compare verified brands, and understand the pharmacology before you drink.

Kava is one of the fastest-growing functional-beverage categories in the US. Kava bars are opening in cities that have never had them; brands like Mitra 9 and Leilo's are appearing on grocery shelves next to adaptogen drinks; Feel Free is at every smoke shop. But the category is also confused: kava is regularly mixed up with kratom, tudei varieties are sold as noble, and hepatic-safety misinformation persists from a 20-year-old FDA advisory.

We're the independent directory that cuts through that. We don't sell kava. We don't take brand sponsorships. Our rankings are editorial, and our health content is medically reviewed.

Methodology

How we evaluate brands.

01

Transparent sourcing

Is the cultivar (noble vs tudei) disclosed? Harvest region, kavalactone content, extraction method?

02

Honest labels

Kavalactone milligram content per serving stated. No vague "proprietary blend" marketing.

03

Independent reviews

Brands added based on market footprint and consumer-search demand. No paid placement.

04

Channel honesty

If a brand includes kratom (like Feel Free), we flag it explicitly. Kava and kratom have different pharmacology and different risks.

05

Harm-reduction default

We publish interactions and contraindications, not marketing copy. If a product has a safety concern, it's called out on the brand page.

Editorial independence

No brand has ever paid for placement or altered a review.

We earn affiliate commissions when readers purchase some products through outbound links — that revenue supports editorial operations. It does not change rankings. Health content is reviewed by a board-certified physician before publication.
